Arapaho This Week
Judy (our church secretary and loving it) sends an email recap of the coming week every Friday afternoon. This week's email is below. If you would like to be added to her list (or taken off) contact Judy in the church office or via email.
I trust everyone had a great Christmas and enjoyed at least one of the many wonderful services that our church home provided. If not, we have many more meaningful worship experiences to share in the coming year!
DON'T FORGET ..... HELP IS NEEDED TO TAKE DOWN THE GREENS - this coming Saturday morning at 9am! If you need child care, please let me know ASAP so that Kay and I can secure that for you!
We have several extra poinsettias so if you can give one or more of them a good home, come on by!
I still need a few of the year end reports - if you are a chairperson and haven't turned yours in, THANK YOU for doing so soon.
Chancel Choir will resume rehearsals January 7th (Wednesday) - everyone is welcome to join so just show up in the choir room at 7pm if you are interested. We LOVE our choir!
Mission of the Month for January is Pastor's Discretionary Fund. If you have a birthday or anniversary, please place your donation in the celebration basket Sunday morning. If you are not aware, Jack and Chris help folks financially (in our church and in the community) when they are able. It's one of our many valuable ministries here at Arapaho.
Arapaho Singles will meet January 4th at 12:30 at LaMadeline's (Coit and Campbell). Please let me know if you are able to attend so that we can make sure we have enough table space.
Random Acts of Kindness! Thank you Karen Lipoma for scheduling our GREETERS each Sunday - our greeters play an important role in our ministry here at Arapaho and we appreciate the volunteers!
Love Circle meets January 12 and Sarah Circle meets January 13. See the bulletin on Sunday for details or call the church office. If you are not involved with one of the circles already, you are welcome to be in 2009!!!
The prayer blanket in the sanctuary is for Louise Dillard. Please tie a knot as you say a prayer for her this Sunday.
YOUTH - New Beginnings 4:30 - 7pm Sunday, January 4th.
Meet and Eat Groups - our Fellowship Committee will have a sign up sheet in the narthex Sunday, January 11th - this is a great way to get to know our church family better with FOOD and FUN!
The Fellowship Committee is also planning a Dallas Stars Night Out on February 8th - the deadline is January 14 so email Cara at clprentice@verizon.net.
Third Grade Bible Study coming up at the end of January!
SIM rotation is sponsored by Genesis class beginning January 4th.
Learn to read music ..... January 14, 21, and 28 at 6:45pm by Sheryl Sebo!
Please sign the attendance booklet each Sunday morning. If any of your contact information has changed, write it in the book. I record that each Monday morning and as some of you know, if you miss too many Sundays in a row, we call, email, or drop a note reminding you that we care and are here for you if you need pastoral help or chicken soup! We do care so much for YOU so thank you for keeping us up-to-date on how you are and where you are.
On behalf of our entire staff, I want to THANK you for your generous staff gift. We all probably feel as if we have the best job in the world (although I'm the one who truly does!) and it's so special to know that you appreciate us - not only in your gift of money but in your prayers, your presence, and your volunteering for the many events we have each year. I am VERY appreciative of the United Methodist Men sharing their breakfast with me on Wednesday mornings, too!!! It's not easy to keep the weight off with them around cooking every week but WELL WORTH the effort. Thank you, guys!
We look forward to sharing another year together!
Thank you for being a wonderful church family!
